Apollo Artists – Welcome Aleksei Zaitsev!
Aleksei Zaitsev is an award-winning pianist from North Karelia and one of the most promising Finnish musicians of his generation. He has studied piano with Irina Zahharenkova and at the Sibelius Academy with Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna and Teppo Koivisto, graduating with a Master of Music degree in 2022. In the summer of 2024, Zaitsev completed his second master's degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Marianna Shirinyan.
Zaitsev has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician and recital pianist in Finland, Europe, the United States and Japan. He has collaborated with Klaus Mäkelä, Daniel Rowland, Maja Bogdanovic and Maxim Vengerov, among others, and also performs actively in contemporary music. Competition success has been accumulated both in Finland and internationally. In addition to making it to the finals, he has been noted for his best interpretations as well as for his intense and intelligent music-making.
In March 2025, Alba Records released his debut album "From the Street", which has already garnered a lot of rave reviews.
