Under the threat of the closure of the fully analogue music studio "The Sound of JJ" in Tampere, PEKKO KÄPPI & K:H:H:L spontaneously created a new album Credo. The nine-track timeless masterpiece was created in eight hours and features a Finnish folk song sung in Mauritian creole and two songs from the repertoire of Taavi Uutela (1883-1969).
Pekko is a master of the traditional instrument ‘jouhikko’ and a blood stopping vocalist. Some of the releases in his own name and with the band have been nominated for prestigious awards such as Nordic Music Prize and Folk Music Album of The Year in Finland, along with high rankings in world music charts and glowing reviews in the media.
PEKKO KÄPPI & K:H:H:L's music is dealing with love and death, and it mixes Finnish voodoo and archaic grooves. Their minimalistic and straightforward sound has a distinct odour of pop, layered with colliding rhythms and psychedelic visuals.
Credo will be released on vinyl LP, CD and simultaneously digital in Germany.
